This short appropriation authorises £1.5 million from the Consolidated Revenue Fund to be placed in the Naval Construction Trust Account to fund the construction, purchase and fitting out of ships and related naval infrastructure for the Royal Australian Navy. It chiefly affects government finance officers and the Defence Department and matters because Parliament’s explicit authorisation is required for public spending.
