166 Suspension of operation of the Register

(1) The Regulator may temporarily suspend the operation of the Register if the Regulator is satisfied that: (a) the suspension is required so that maintenance can be carried out; or (b) it is prudent to suspend the operation of the Register in order to: (i) ensure the integrity of the Register; or (ii) prevent, mitigate or minimise abuse of the Register; or (iii) prevent, mitigate or minimise criminal activity involving the Register. (2) If the Regulator suspends the operation of the Register, the Regulator must publish a notice on the Regulator’s website informing the public of the suspension. (3) If the Regulator suspends the operation of the Register, the Regulator may defer taking action in relation to the Register until the suspension ends.
