sec.311 Helicopters

A person in control of a helicopter must not, without a reasonable excuse— bring the helicopter closer to a marine mammal than the prescribed distance for the helicopter; or bring the helicopter to a position that would cause a moving marine mammal, if the mammal continued its direction of movement, to become closer to the helicopter than the prescribed distance for the helicopter. Maximum penalty— if the prescribed distance applies as a result of a marine mammal special management declaration—165 penalty units; or otherwise—120 penalty units. A person in control of a helicopter must not, without a reasonable excuse, hover above a marine mammal. Maximum penalty—120 penalty units.
