#### 12 Primary objectives of the National Land and Water Resources Audit For the purposes of this Act, the primary objectives of the National Land and Water Resources Audit are as follows: (a) to estimate the direct and indirect causes and effects of land and water degradation on the quality of the Australian environment and to estimate the effects of land and water degradation on Australia’s economy; (b) to provide a baseline for the purposes of carrying out assessments of the effectiveness of land and water degradation policies and programs.
