44C  Suspension of native title rights  (1) For so long as the person included in the native title claim group has rights conferred by subsection 44B(1), no person can enforce any native title rights or interests in relation to the whole or part of the land or waters covered by the lease, except in proceedings before the Federal Court or a recognised State/Territory body that are related to the making of an approved determination of native title. Other provisions not affected  (2) Subsection (1) does not affect the operation of any other provision of this Act. Note: The “right to negotiate” provisions in Subdivision P are an example of provisions that are not intended to be affected.
