144 Identification of authorised persons
(1) An authorised person who is not a police officer, and is not in uniform, may exercise a power in relation to another person only if the authorised person: (a) produces his or her identity card for the other person’s inspection; or (b) has his or her identity card displayed so it is clearly visible. (2) However, if for any reason it is not practicable to comply with subregulation (1) before exercising the power and the other person requests the authorised person to produce evidence of the authorised person’s authority, the authorised person must produce the identity card for inspection by the other person.
