Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does

This regulation cancels (repeals) the National Security (Beef Shortage) Regulations — a set of emergency rules originally created during World War II to control beef supply, distribution, and pricing during wartime shortages.

Why it matters

During the war, the government used "national security" powers to ration food and fix prices. This repeal removes those specific beef controls, effectively ending wartime rationing restrictions for the meat industry as part of returning to peacetime economic conditions.

Who is affected

Butchers and meat sellers: No longer legally bound by specific wartime rationing, pricing, or distribution rules for beef
Consumers: Removes restrictions on purchasing beef that applied during the officially declared shortage period
