27Remuneration and allowances

##### 27 Remuneration and allowances (1) The Chief Executive Officer is to be paid such remuneration as is determined by the Remuneration Tribunal, but, if no determination of that remuneration is in force, is to be paid such remuneration as is determined in writing by the Commission. (2) The Chief Executive Officer is to be paid such allowances as are determined in writing by the Commission. (3) A determination by the Commission does not have effect unless it has been approved by the Australian Transport Council by resolution carried in accordance with the Heavy Vehicles Agreement. (4) Remuneration and allowances payable to the Chief Executive Officer under this section are to be paid out of the money of the Commission. (5) This section, other than subsection (4), has effect subject to the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, but subsection (4) has effect despite that Act.
