This Act activates a levy on horticultural exports to fund the National Residue Survey, which tests products for chemical residues to meet overseas safety standards.

It applies to exporters, growers and other businesses already subject to the Horticultural Export Charge Act 1987 (and binds the Crown). The Act switches on the levy mechanism in the National Residue Survey Administration Act 1992; that Administration Act sets the amount.
