Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This law creates a levy on honey exported from Australia to fund the National Residue Survey, which tests agricultural products for chemical residues to protect food safety and support trade. It applies to honey already covered by the Honey Export Charge Act 1973 and binds the Crown, so government exporters pay the levy too. The Act simply provides the legal power to impose that fee; collection details are in the National Residue Survey Administration Act 1992.
