89Authorisation to use information for purposes of certain proceedings

#### 89 Authorisation to use information for purposes of certain proceedings (1) A person may disclose protected information to a court or tribunal or a coronial inquiry, or in accordance with an order of a court or tribunal or a coroner, for the purposes of proceedings under: (a) this Part; or (b) the Crimes (Biological Weapons) Act 1976; or (c) Part 5.3 or 5.5 of the Criminal Code; or (d) any other prescribed law of the Commonwealth or of a State or Territory. > Note 1: The National Security Information (Criminal and Civil Proceedings) Act 2004 may apply to proceedings under this Part. > Note 2: This subsection constitutes an authorisation for the purposes of other laws, such as paragraph 6.2(b) of Australian Privacy Principle 6. (2) A person who obtains protected information under, or in accordance with, subsection (1) may make a record of, or disclose or otherwise use, the information for the purposes for which the information was disclosed under that subsection. > Note: This subsection constitutes an authorisation for the purposes of other laws, such as paragraph 6.2(b) of Australian Privacy Principle 6.
