72D Requirements for period for which net emissions number is reduced by surrendering units

For the purposes of paragraph 22XN(1)(c) of the Act, the registered holder of one or more prescribed carbon units may surrender any or all of those units for the purposes of reducing the net emissions number for a facility for a period if the period meets the following requirements: (a) the period is a monitoring period for the facility in relation to the responsible emitter for the facility; (b) the period commenced before the surrender is made.
