#### 57 Appointment of authorised officers
(1) The Regulator may, in writing, appoint:
(a) an APS employee; or
(b) an employee of a State or a Territory or of an authority of a State or a Territory;
to be an authorised officer for the purposes of this Division.
(2) In exercising powers or performing functions as an authorised officer, an authorised officer must comply with any directions of the Regulator.
> Note: Section 122.4 of the Criminal Code creates an offence where Commonwealth officers (including persons performing services for or on behalf of the Commonwealth) disclose information in breach of a duty of confidentiality.
