#### 144 Transitional HEEF payments (1) For the purposes of this Act, a transitional HEEF payment is: (a) a grant of financial assistance to an eligible higher education institution in relation to capital expenditure; or (b) a grant of financial assistance to an eligible higher education institution in relation to research facilities. > Note: A transitional HEEF payment requires a pre‑1 July 2009 recommendation of the EIF designated Ministers—see subsections 177(7), 184(4) and 191(4). (2) An expression used in paragraph (1)(a) or (b) has the same meaning as it had in the Higher Education Endowment Fund Act 2007 as in force immediately before the commencement of this section.
