#### 130 Simplified outline The following is a simplified outline of this Part: • This Part sets up the Education Investment Fund. • The Education Investment Fund consists of: (a) the Education Investment Fund Special Account; and (b) the investments of the Education Investment Fund. • The balance of the Higher Education Endowment Fund is to be transferred to the Education Investment Fund. • The responsible Ministers may determine that additional amounts are to be credited to the Education Investment Fund Special Account. • Amounts may be debited from the Education Investment Fund Special Account in accordance with the purposes of the Education Investment Fund Special Account. • The main purposes of the Education Investment Fund Special Account are: (a) to make payments in relation to the creation or development of higher education infrastructure; and (b) to make payments in relation to the creation or development of research infrastructure; and (c) to make payments in relation to the creation or development of vocational education and training infrastructure; and (d) to make payments in relation to the creation or development of eligible education infrastructure; and (e) to make transitional HEEF payments. > Note: The Higher Education Endowment Fund was established by section 11 of the repealed Higher Education Endowment Fund Act 2007.
