sec.20 Multicultural action plan

The Minister must prepare a plan about implementing the multicultural policy outcomes ( multicultural action plan ). The multicultural action plan must— be consistent with the principles of the multicultural charter; and state the actions that all or stated government entities must take to achieve the multicultural policy outcomes; and state the actions that all or stated government entities must take to ensure services provided by the entities are accessible to people who have difficulty understanding English or communicating in English. The Minister must— prepare the first plan within 6 months after this section commences; and prepare a further plan at least once every 3 years. The chief executive of the department must publish each plan prepared under this section— on the department’s website; and in any other way the chief executive considers appropriate to make the plan publicly available, including, for example, on another website. A plan prepared under this section— takes effect when it is published on the department’s website; and stops having effect when a further plan prepared under subsection (3) (b) takes effect.
