##### 27. Soliciting instructions from persons claiming (1) No person shall — (a) for or in the expectation of directly or indirectly receiving any reward accept instructions or authority to act on behalf of any person in respect of the making, commencement, resisting, compromise or settlement of any claim or action for damages for the death of or bodily injury to any person or for the injury to the property of any person directly caused by, or by the driving of, an insured or an uninsured motor vehicle; (b) for or in the expectation of directly or indirectly receiving any reward, make, commence, cause to be made or commenced, negotiate, settle or compromise on behalf of any person any such claim or action; (c) hold himself out as being willing to act for reward on behalf of any person in making, commencing, resisting, negotiating, settling or compromising any such claim or action. (2) This section shall not apply to any solicitor or barrister who is carrying on his profession in the ordinary way, or to any officer of an association acting in the course of his duties for a member of such association, or to any person employed or instructed by the Commission to act on its behalf in connection with any claim or action. (3) Any agreement to pay any money for work done or services rendered contrary to this section shall be void, and any money so paid shall be recoverable by the person who has paid it.
