23 Odometer readings—the Act, s 186(2)(e) and (h)

If a motor dealer knows, or suspects on reasonable grounds, that the reading on the odometer of a motor vehicle is a false representation of the distance travelled by the vehicle, the motor dealer must not—

(a) publish an advertisement specifying the reading on the odometer of the vehicle, or

(b) specify the reading on the odometer of the vehicle during negotiations for the sale of the vehicle.

Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.
