Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

These regulations cancel (repeal) outdated rules from 1996 that were made under the Moomba-Sydney Pipeline System Sale Act 1994.

What it does:

Removes the Moomba-Sydney Pipeline System Sale Regulations 1996 from the statute book
This is essentially a housekeeping measure to tidy up old laws that are no longer needed

Who it affects:

Anyone researching historical documentation about the pipeline sale
Legal practitioners checking which regulations remain in force under the 1994 Act

Why it matters: The pipeline was sold in the 1990s, and the specific rules governing that sale became redundant once the transaction completed. This repeal prevents confusion by ensuring people don't accidentally rely on defunct regulations.
