act

Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Act renames two ministerial offices: it replaces the titles “Colonial Treasurer” and “Colonial Secretary” with “Treasurer” and “Chief Secretary”, and requires those new titles to be substituted in all existing Acts and statutory regulations (s 2). It affects government departments, public records and anyone who relies on statutory references; the practical cost lies in updating legislation, instruments, signage and legal advice, while the substantive powers of the offices are left unchanged.
