Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This 1933 regulation sets basic rules for mining on Commonwealth land: where a Commonwealth mining lease or licence permits activity that conflicts with State mining law, the Commonwealth permission prevails. It also requires holders of Commonwealth mining leases or licences to pay any State fees the Commonwealth has arranged under the Lands Acquisition Act. It primarily affects miners operating on federal land and State governments whose laws might otherwise apply.
