sec.142 Asbestos, other than asbestos material installed in buildings and plant
This section applies to asbestos occurring naturally at a mine. The site senior executive for the mine must ensure— action is taken to prevent the exposure of persons to the asbestos; or if the exposure can not be prevented, action is taken to protect the health of persons at the mine from the effect of the asbestos. The site senior executive must ensure monitoring or assessment of airborne asbestos is carried out under NOHSC’s document called ‘Guidance Note on the Membrane Filter Method for Estimating Airborne Asbestos Fibres 2nd edition [NOHSC:3003 (2005)]’. s 142 amd 2019 SL No. 140 s 21 sch 1 (sec.142-ssec.1) This section applies to asbestos occurring naturally at a mine. (sec.142-ssec.2) The site senior executive for the mine must ensure— action is taken to prevent the exposure of persons to the asbestos; or if the exposure can not be prevented, action is taken to protect the health of persons at the mine from the effect of the asbestos. - (a) action is taken to prevent the exposure of persons to the asbestos; or
- (b) if the exposure can not be prevented, action is taken to protect the health of persons at the mine from the effect of the asbestos.
