19 Compliance with directions of mine operator or site senior officer

(1)  A person who conducts a business or undertaking at a mine must comply, so far as is reasonably practicable, with any reasonable direction, issued by the mine operator or site senior officer for the mine, in relation to health or safety.

(a) a body corporate, a fine not exceeding $500 000; or

(b) an individual, a fine not exceeding $100 000.

(2)  [Section 19 Subsection (2) amended by No. 39 of 2020, s. 20, Applied:27 Dec 2020] A worker at a mine, other than a person referred to in subsection (1) , must comply, so far as he or she is reasonably able, with any reasonable direction, issued by the mine operator or site senior officer for the mine, in relation to health or safety.
