183 Court may order forfeiture (1) This section applies in relation to a seized thing if a prosecution for a relevant offence commences within 12 months after the delivery of the seized thing. (2) If a court finds a person guilty of the relevant offence, the court may order the seized thing be forfeited to the Territory. Mineral Titles Act 2010 93 (3) The forfeiture is in addition to the penalty imposed for the offence. (4) If a person is found guilty of the relevant offence, the person is liable to pay to the Territory the reasonable costs of handling, maintaining and storing the seized thing from the time it was seized, regardless of whether the court makes an order under subsection (2).
