Tasmania regulation
This order brings 25 named Tasmanian forest reserves within the Mineral Resources Development Act 1995 as soon as the order is gazetted. Mechanically, those specific parcels become subject to the Act’s permitting, licensing and compliance rules for mineral exploration and development.
Who it affects: land managers, the administering department (Tasmania Development and Resources) and any prospective resource applicants or title-holders — applicants and licensees will face the Act’s application and associated costs and conditions when proposing activity on these parcels.

This order may be cited as the Mineral Resources Development (Application of Act) Order 1998 .
This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.
The Mineral Resources Development Act 1995 is declared to apply to the forest reserves specified in Schedule 1 to this order.
