### 55 Conditions of retention licence
> > (1) The Minister may grant an application for a licence subject to any conditions the Minister considers appropriate.
>
> > (2) If a licence is held by 2 or more persons, those persons are jointly and severally liable for complying with any conditions of the licence.

> > > > (a) if an appeal is not made under [subsection (5)](#GS55@Gs5@EN) , 28 days after service of a notice under [subsection (4)](#GS55@Gs4@EN) ; or

> > > > (b) if an appeal is made under [subsection (5)](#GS55@Gs5@EN) and the Mining Tribunal makes an order affirming the decision, 10 days after the date of the order.
