### 48 Holder of exploration licence or lease may permit other person to apply for retention licence > [*\[Section 48 Substituted by No. 24 of 2013, s. 56, Applied:28 Jun 2013\]*](/view/html/inforce/2013-06-28/act-2013-024#GS56@EN) > > > (1)  The holder of an exploration licence or a lease may, by notice in writing to another person, consent to the other person applying, either alone or in conjunction with the holder, for a retention licence that is to relate to both – > > > > > > (a) a mineral, or a category of minerals, specified in an exploration licence or lease; and > > > > > > > (b) any area of land comprised in that exploration licence or lease. > > > (2)  A person to whom a notice of consent is given under [subsection (1)](#GS48@Gs1@EN) is to provide the Registrar with a copy of that notice within 14 days of the date of the notice.
