### 124 Inspection of drill core and cutting > > (1)  A licensee or lessee is to make available any drill core or cutting stored under [section 123](#GS123@EN) for inspection by the Director or any other person authorised by the Director. > > > (2)  The Director or other person while inspecting a drill core or cutting may take samples of the drill core and cutting for assay or other geoscientific investigation. > > > (3)  The Director is to ensure that any information obtained as a result of an assay or investigation is not published unless – > > > > > > (a) the licensee or lessee consents; or > > > > > > > (b) the Minister otherwise directs. > > > (4)  [*\[Section 124 Subsection (4) amended by No. 54 of 2009, Sched. 1, Applied:01 Jul 2010\]*](/view/html/inforce/2010-07-01/act-2009-054#JS1@Ja14@GC1@EN) Any information obtained as a result of an assay or geoscientific investigation is exempt from the provisions of the [Right to Information Act 2009](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-2009-070) .
