### 101 Rent
> > (1) A lessee must pay an annual rent to the Crown in respect of a lease at a prescribed rate.
>
> > (2) [Subsection (1)](#GS101@Gs1@EN) does not apply to a lessee who is the owner of land and minerals to which the lease relates.
