### sec.318ELAN What is an overlapping authority (geothermal or GHG)
An overlapping authority (geothermal or GHG) , for a mining tenement, is any geothermal tenure or GHG authority all or part of the area of which is in the mining tenement’s area.
An overlapping authority (geothermal or GHG) , for a proposed mining tenement, is any geothermal tenure or GHG authority all or part of the area of which will, if the proposed mining tenement is granted, be in the mining tenement’s area.
