### sec.204A Alternative calculation of rent for resource authorities
A regulation may provide for the Minister to apply an alternative way of calculating the rent payable for a resource authority, so that a lesser amount of rent is payable, in the circumstances prescribed by regulation.
Subsection (3) applies if, under a regulation made under subsection (1) —
the Minister applies an alternative way of calculating the rent payable for a resource authority for a particular period; and
the calculated amount is less than the amount of rent that would otherwise be payable for the period under the relevant Resource Act for the authority or a condition of the authority.
Despite the relevant Resource Act for the resource authority or a condition of the authority, the rental payable for the authority for the period is the lesser amount.
