Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This document updates the official list of passports that allow people to apply for Australian visas online (through the internet).

What it does

Replaces the previous list: Cancels a 2004 notice and creates a new list effective 2 April 2005.
Permits online applications: People holding passports from the specified countries can lodge visa applications electronically rather than using paper forms. (To use this option, you must also be outside Australia when you apply.)

Who is affected Passport holders from these 14 countries: United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Oman, Poland, Qatar, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Why it matters If your passport is on this list, you can apply for certain Australian visas online. If your country is not listed, you must submit a paper application. This change expands digital access to Australia’s visa system for citizens of these nations.
