Commonwealth legislation
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This notice designates Centrelink (now part of Services Australia) as an approved organisation whose employees or contractors can act as “independent experts” to assess non‑judicial claims of domestic violence in visa applications. It affects applicants who lack court or police evidence of partner violence, allowing Centrelink assessments to support migration claims for permanent residency where relationships end due to abuse.
