This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This instrument sets who may apply for a student visa while remaining in Australia. It lets certain current student visa holders subject to work‑ban condition 8101 seek a student visa that permits work, and allows some family members on visas with conditions 8101 or 8104 to apply onshore if they claim to be in the family unit of a student visa holder obligated by course condition 8202. It enables onshore visa changes for these narrowly defined groups.
