Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this is: A short Ministerial determination (delegated legislation) made under the Migration Regulations 1994.

What it does: It officially names Fulbright Scholars from the United States of America as a specific group (a 'class of persons') for the purposes of Australia's visa system. It revokes and replaces an earlier similar determination from 2012.

Why it matters: This classification determines what these scholars pay when applying for certain visas—likely entitling them to a reduced fee or exemption from standard visa application charges. By naming them specifically, the Minister ensures this category is formally recognised in the visa charging framework.

When it applies: The determination took effect on 1 July 2013.
