Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation cancels (repeals) an earlier set of rules made earlier in 1994 about travel and migration restrictions related to Haiti.

In mid-1994, Australia created regulations to enforce United Nations Security Council decisions regarding Haiti (likely travel bans or sanctions following the military coup). By December 1994, those restrictions were no longer needed—presumably because the political situation had stabilized or the UN lifted the sanctions.

This instrument is simple housekeeping: it removes the obsolete Haiti-specific regulations from Australia's migration laws. It does not create any new rules or restrictions; it simply cleans up the statute books by deleting the old ones.
