Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

These regulations narrow who must meet Australia’s standard sponsorship requirements by exempting diplomatic household staff (Subclass 426) and Sponsored Visitors (Class UL) from those sponsorship rules, while clarifying that sponsors remain liable for the usual visa application charges. It affects employers, diplomats bringing domestic staff, sponsored visitors, and Home Affairs—avoiding inappropriate sponsorship burdens on diplomatic/short‑term entrants and removing any doubt that visa fees still apply.
