##### 4 Object (1) The object for which the Agency is established is to ensure that actions taken and decisions made in relation to a Commonwealth employee in relation to his or her employment as a Commonwealth employee are fair and equitable and are taken or made in accordance with sound personnel management practices and with due regard being had to: (a) the efficiency of the relevant authority; and (b) the need to ensure good relations between the relevant authority and its employees. (2) In subsection (1), relevant authority, in relation to a Commonwealth employee, means: (a) in a case where the employee is an officer or employee within the meaning of the Public Service Act 1922—the Service; and (b) in a case where the employee is employed by a Commonwealth authority—the Commonwealth authority.
