sec.21 Acting commissioner
If there is a vacancy in the office of the commissioner or the commissioner is absent for any other reason or is unable to perform the functions of the office, the Minister may appoint a person to act as the commissioner for a period of not more than 6 months. A person may only be appointed to act as the commissioner if the Minister is satisfied the person is appropriately qualified. (sec.21-ssec.1) If there is a vacancy in the office of the commissioner or the commissioner is absent for any other reason or is unable to perform the functions of the office, the Minister may appoint a person to act as the commissioner for a period of not more than 6 months. (sec.21-ssec.2) A person may only be appointed to act as the commissioner if the Minister is satisfied the person is appropriately qualified.
