sec.11 Commissioner
There is to be a commissioner (Meriba Omasker Kaziw Kazipa). The commissioner is appointed by the Governor in Council on the recommendation of the Minister. The Minister may recommend a person for appointment only if— the person is a Torres Strait Islander; and the Minister is satisfied the person is appropriately qualified. (sec.11-ssec.1) There is to be a commissioner (Meriba Omasker Kaziw Kazipa). (sec.11-ssec.2) The commissioner is appointed by the Governor in Council on the recommendation of the Minister. (sec.11-ssec.3) The Minister may recommend a person for appointment only if— the person is a Torres Strait Islander; and the Minister is satisfied the person is appropriately qualified.
- (a) the person is a Torres Strait Islander; and
- (b) the Minister is satisfied the person is appropriately qualified.
