156 Information to be given to assessment patient in relation to varied order

As soon as practicable after a registered medical practitioner or an authorised mental health practitioner varies an assessment order under section 153 or 155, the practitioner must ensure that all reasonable steps are taken—

(a) to inform the assessment patient that the order has been varied; and

(b) to explain the purpose and effect of the variation to the assessment patient; and

(c) to give a copy of the varied order and a statement of rights to the assessment patient.
