146 What does an assessment order authorise?
(1) An assessment order authorises an authorised psychiatrist for the responsible designated mental health service to compulsorily examine the assessment patient for the purpose of determining whether the compulsory treatment criteria apply to the patient.
(2) A community assessment order enables the assessment patient to be examined in the community.
(3) An inpatient assessment order authorises the detention of the assessment patient for the purpose of transporting the patient to the responsible designated mental health service and the detention of the patient for the purpose of examining the patient at the service under the order.
