#### 70 Treatment, care and detention of patients 70 Treatment, care and detention of patients > > (1) The principles set out in section 68 of the [Mental Health Act 2007](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2007-008) apply to the administration of this Act with respect to forensic patients and correctional patients. > > > (2) A forensic patient who is ordered to be detained in a mental health facility should, so far as practicable, be detained in a mental health facility or other facility that is appropriate to the patient’s needs and appropriate having regard to the safety of the patient and other persons.
