sec.597 Power to require information

This section applies if an inspector reasonably believes— an offence against this Act has been committed and a person may be able to give information about the offence; or a person may be able to give information about a matter being investigated by the inspector under chapter 10 , part 4 . The inspector may, by written notice given to the person, require the person to give the inspector information related to the offence, or matter being investigated, at a stated reasonable time and place. A requirement under subsection (2) is an information requirement . For information that is an electronic document, compliance with the information requirement requires the giving of a clear image or written version of the electronic document. In this section— information includes a document.
