145 Definitions (1) In this Act: electroconvulsive therapy means a procedure for the induction of an epileptiform convulsion in a person. electroconvulsive therapy order means an order under section 157 for the administration of electroconvulsive therapy to a person. emergency electroconvulsive therapy order means an order under section 162 for the emergency administration of electroconvulsive therapy to a person. psychiatric surgery means specialised neurosurgery for psychiatric conditions. neurosurgery means surgery on the brain of a person for the purpose of treating a pathological condition of the physical structure of the brain.
