77 Notification to new involuntary patients of appeal rights
(cf 1990 Act, s 55)
> > (1) An authorised medical officer of a mental health facility must give, or cause to be given, to a person ordered by the Tribunal after a mental health inquiry to be detained in the facility as an involuntary patient a statement of the rights of appeal conferred on the person as an involuntary patient under this Act.

> > (1A) An authorised medical officer of a mental health facility must give, or cause to be given, to a person detained in the facility on the order of the Tribunal after a breach of a community treatment order a statement of the rights of appeal conferred on the person under this Act or the [Mental Health and Cognitive Impairment Forensic Provisions Act 2020](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2020-012).

> > (2) The statement must be given as soon as practicable after the order is made.
>
> > (3) The statement is to be in the form approved by the Minister.
