#### 42 Discharge of involuntary patients on own application 42 Discharge of involuntary patients on own application (cf 1990 Act, s 67) > > (1) An involuntary patient of a mental health facility or another person detained in a mental health facility may make an application to the authorised medical officer to be discharged. > > > (2) The authorised medical officer may discharge the patient or person. > > > > Note. > > > > The authorised medical officer may also classify a patient as a voluntary patient (see section 40).
