22 Time of payment

(1) The Chief Executive Medicare must pay an amount that is payable under Part 2, 3 or 4 (except section 19) before the end of the calendar month after the calendar month in which the complying application for the payment is made. (2) However, if the Chief Executive Medicare makes a request under section 27B or 34ZO of the Act relating to the amount, the amount is payable before the end of the calendar month after the calendar month in which the request is complied with.

Note: Sections 27B and 34ZO of the Act let the Chief Executive Medicare request information relevant to determining whether (and how much of) the amount is payable.
