Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This short law grants a Royal Commission probing alleged monopolies in Australia's meat export industry the full investigatory powers of the Royal Commissions Act, so the commissioner can compel testimony, require documents, and enforce compliance.

It directly affects businesses and individuals in the meat export trade called to give evidence and matters because it clarifies and strengthens the inquiry’s authority to conduct a thorough investigation.
