Commonwealth legislation
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
These 1936 regulations establish a wartime licensing regime giving the Minister (via the Australian Meat Board) tight control over who may export meat, meat products, and edible offal from Australia. Exporters must hold licences, use approved shippers, submit detailed shipment returns and records on specified forms, and comply with information and withholding orders.
The rules impose significant administrative burdens and penalties for false statements, affecting anyone involved in Australia’s meat export trade.
